Taurine : 500mg
Product Profile
N-acetylcysteine (or Acetylcysteine), sulphur containing Amino acid, is a derivative of cysteine
where an acetyl group is attached to the nitrogen atom.
Taurine (or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid) is an organic acid widely distributed in animal tissues.
While Taurine is sometimes called an amino acid, and indeed is an acid (sulfonic acid)
containing an amino group, it is not an amino acid in the usual biochemical meaning of the term,
which refers to compounds containing both an amino and a carboxyl group.
Indications:
- N-acetylcysteine, a nephro-anti-oxidant, is used for the prevention of radio-contrast induced nephropathy (a form of acute renal failure). Acetylcysteine protects patients with moderate chronic renal insufficiency from contrast-induced deterioration in renal function after coronary angiographic procedures.
- It reduces homocystein level, a major risk factor in heart attack & stroke in CKD.
- Taurine, also a nephro-anti-oxidant, helps in osmo-regulation and improves cardiovascular,CNS and Retina functioning; prevents diabetes – associated microangiopathy.
- Taurine exerts a beneficial effect in preventing diabetes - associated microangiopathy and tubulointerstitial injury in diabetic nephropathy. Taurine produces an anxiolytic effect and may act as a modulator or anti-anxiety agent in the central nervous system by activating the glycine receptor.
